Chris Coxen
Chris Coxen has been performing comedy in Boston for eight years. He was recently on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and plays "Renaldo" on MyTV's Quiet Desperation. His absurd characters and scenarios are reminiscent of 1970s-era Saturday Night Live. Always in search of the "outside the box" opportunity, Coxen recently entered a video of his Danny Morsel character dancing in his underwear outside of Fenway Park into the Jockey Underwars contest. Not only did he garner great press from Boston newspapers, radio stations and SportsIllustrated.com, he also walked away with the grand prize of $25,000. He was featured in Stuff Boston magazine's 2010 Bodies by Boston issue, and has been featured in the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald. In April 2006, Coxen also help put on a two-night performance at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, Mass. and donated all proceeds to the theater. This event was covered by FOX Morning News, the Boston Herald and WBCN. In October 2006, Coxen unveiled his new concept "Chris Coxen's League of Characters" at the Actor's Workshop in Boston. The Boston Globe wrote a feature article on this innovative performance that showcased Coxen’s interesting and eccentric characters that were brought to life via live music, live performance, live video, and pre-recorded video. Coxen has performed his show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and the Peoples Improv Theater in New York City and the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center of the Arts. |
