Hotline: Comic Jockeys to Victory
By Michael Marotta
The Boston Herald, May 9th, 2008

Chris Coxen has realized his dream - he’s won $25,000 for dancing in his underwear.

The West Roxbury comedian took top honors in the Jockey Underwear Underwars competition, an online battle that pits underwear-clad dancing machines against each other in an NCAA bracket-style tournament.

“This is definitely the most fun I’ve ever had in my underwear,” he said.

Coxen entered the competition as Danny Morsel, a personality from his League of Characters stand-up routine. His dance clips, which included prancing around Fenway Park before a Red Sox game, as well as shots of him dancing with a ventriloquist’s dummy inside his apartment, gained him national attention and a spot as a guest on a WZLX-FM (100.7) talk show.

“I’m thrilled to have won Jockey’s tournament,” Coxen said. “And I thank the good people of Boston and beyond who rallied behind me in the final hours to make it possible.”
